Wally Green serves as Senior Vice President of Recovery Services for Gateway Community Services, Inc. In this position, Mr. Green oversees all transitional and recovery housing, including Room and Board, Step-up Intervention, Magnolia Row, Alumni House, Independence Village and several other recovery houses scattered throughout Jacksonville. In addition to the residential responsibilities, Mr. Green is responsible for the recovery programs provided at each location he oversees.
A recovering alcoholic himself, Mr. Green has more than 20 years of continuous sobriety. He joined Gateway in 1988 as a volunteer, bringing 12-step meetings into the agency's detoxification unit. In 1992, he was elected to Gateway's Board of Directors where he served until 1995 when he was asked to form the Gateway Alumni Association. In 1996, he opened Alumni House, a recovery housing facility revered throughout the local 12-step community for its success in helping hundreds of people get sober and stay that way.
Prior to joining Gateway, Mr. Green worked in the manufacturing industry.
