Trauma Therapy

Psychiatrists define trauma as, “an event outside normal human experience.” Trauma generally leaves you feeling powerless, helpless and paralyzed. It tends to be sudden and overwhelming and seems to "own" you. Severe trauma can be mental or physical or both. The result is an inability to think clearly at a time when it is imperative that you focus your consciousness in an attempt to deal with the situation.
